Good-bye Christmas...

Well, aside from anything that is snowman or Nativity related... all Christmas decorations have been packed up and put away until November 28th, 2008 (the day after Thanksgiving).

I am always so excited to put the decorations up and can't wait for that magical Friday where I shout orders at every member of my family until every surface of my house looks like something from Santa's workshop...

There is something to be said about putting my house back into order and starting the new year with a clean house and not have remnants of the year before still hanging over our heads.

The five Nativity sets will stay up until the wise men safely reach their correct destination - our children move them all over the house until they reach their manger(occasionally, they will stop at the wrong manger and just keep moving on). The snowmen will stay up through March (after all this is Connecticut and what would a Northeast winter be without that late March snowstorm that has you wondering if this time spring really won't show up).

But, Christmas has come to an end in this household. Two more days of vacation and then it will be back to work, school and daycare - back to crazy mornings and busy evenings filled with homework, meetings, and life in general.

I hope the next 48 hours move very slowly...
