Memorial Service Invitation...

Today I was asked to put together an invitation for a Memorial Service. It was requested that it be a postcard to simplify mailing, etc. I came up with the following...

Teacher Appreciation Lunch Invitations...

Last night I was asked to make invitations for the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon - not a problem. Then they asked if I could have 75 of them done by Thursday morning - not a problem... GULP!

I started brainstorming and thought about a report card or a term paper - but realizing that time was short and supplies would have to come from my mystical, magical craft closet... easier was better.

These reminded me of a note written by a kid "do you like me? check yes or no"

I printed the information onto notebook paper, tore the invite to fit envelopes I already had, and printed labels to the teachers and staff for the envelope.

I was able to get 80 done in just under 2 hours - perfect! Now I just hope the other PTO ladies like them.

54 trombones...

WOW! 54 people auditioned for the summer musical this year at our church!

This is amazing to me! Last year was the first time I ever directed a musical and we all but begged people to audition, this year 54 people showed up wanting to join us.

Already there seems to be great excitement over the show and everyone is looking forward to rehearsals starting...

Now, if only I would get that rehearsal schedule done.

Molly the photographer...

I was given a tripod for my camera. Molly took one look at it and her plans for the day were SET! She opened her very own photography studio and poor Matt was her model for over an hour.

Every successful business needs clear and informative marketing pieces

Surviving Easter...

I have an idea, let's have a holiday where we feed kids candy at 6 am and then expect them to sit through church at 10 am. HA!

Okay, so Matt's sugar high was in full swing during church - but we made it through and had a wonderful day!

kid's snack for Easter coffee hour at church...

Last year, I made these for the kid's at church. They were well received - especially since they were not candy. However, the cheese puffs were a little messy...

So, back to the drawing board. After walking around my kitchen and thinking about orange food - Matt came in and asked me for Goldfish. As I poured them into the bowl, I yelled "Hey, these are orange"! To which Molly responded "always have been" - nice that my 8-year old keeps me grounded taking the major excitement of my discovery back to a normal level.

Hence, these were born (or made)...

Hopefully, they will be as well received.

feet washing = HUGE EXCITEMENT...

We went to Maundy Thursday Services at church tonight. The evening started with a lovely Mediterranean dinner, followed by readings and our amazing choir singing.

However, my favorite moment had to be when it was time for the footwashing. Nothing is better than the excitement on a four-year olds face to hear him yell "WE GET TO TAKE OFF OUR SHOES AND SOCKS IN CHURCH!!!!!" He ran to the front of the line to wash his father's feet, then with great joy splashed in the water until his pants were soaked - so his father could "wash" his feet, and then announced he wanted to wash Mother Mo's feet too! We quickly got him away from the water, fearing that the whole thing would become very messy, very quickly.

He is a constant reminder that joy can be found in the simplest of things.

easter eggs everywhere...

So I saw this great idea on Ramblings of a Crazy Woman
and of course I had to try it.

This idea I saw while blog-hopping elsewhere - and now I can't find it (honestly, I thought it was from the same post as above - but, I guess not). So here is my really cute plastic egg garland. Thanks to whoever posted it on their blog and sorry I couldn't find it again to give you credit.
