Visiting Preschool...

I can hardly believe that my baby is old enough for pre-school. It actually breaks my heart a little. I want him to remain this tender, loving toddler forever. But we all know that this is not an option and that aging is inevitable.

Today was open house day at several local preschools. Nestled in between some of New Haven's oldest homes is the most wonderful preschool EVER! The people who work there are beyond amazing and create such a loving, supportive, enriching environment for the kids. My daughter had the pleasure of attending school there and now it is Matt's turn.

I had forgoten how special this place is. That is until I walked through the door and was instantly brought back to Molly's first day. The cubbies plastered with family pictures flank the "parent-notices covered" doors. The playdough, guinea pig, climbers, blocks, etc, etc, etc... I could go on and on. I am just enamored with this place! (Matt was in love with the sinks at his height and the jungle gym outside).

Hopefully, we will be accepted. (Keep your fingers crossed!)

My Kick-Butt New Boots...

I have several really pretty skirts, but I never wear them because I hate my legs. Well, I bought myself a Christmas present - these great boots! I just love them and have gotten so many compliments while wearing them. Yeah for my new boots!

Oh, yeah and I got home from Boston safe and sound. Here's to everyone having a great weekend!!!

I love Boston...

Boston is such a fun city!

Unfortunately, this trip has been mostly work and I have had no time to roam the city. We did go out for a fantastic Chinese dinner, but other than that we have been working hard. I am looking forward to getting back home tomorrow, but have to admit - having a hotel room to yourself for the evening is such an incredible luxury!!!!!

Short Business Trip...

So I have to go to Boston for work. I spent tonight organizing with my husband so that clothes and uniforms (school, gym, etc) were laid out for the next two mornings.

The kids get a little weird when I have to leave, but hopefully - they will get used to it and maybe even look forward to a break from me. (My husband is unbelievably good with the kids and the house probably runs a lot smoother without me.) I miss my husband and the kids while I am gone, but I do love being a "grown up" and going to meetings and out for dinner. It is a lot of work, but completely worth it. The additional benefit is that it rejuvenates me as a Mom. I come home with a better attitude and the kids appreciate me a bit more.

I am all packed a ready to go! Here's hoping that the trip is a good one!

Props for a pirate...

Molly (7)and Matt (3) decided tonight to put on a pirate play. Much to my Molly's dismay... Matt kept wandering off and not following her direction. (I wonder where she gets her bossiness from.... hmmm..... oh yeah, me!)

Below is a picture of the props that were (ever so carefully) picked for this epic production. I still can't imagine exactly how Piglet, Spiderman, and a role of tape played roles, but I guess now the world will never know...

Sunday's at Grandpa's and Grandma's...

My kids love their grandparents... A LOT!!!!

While visiting for dinner on Sunday (while hubby was battling food poisoning), both kids curled up on the sofa with their grandparents for this cute shot.

Not to discuss politics, but...

Okay, so I shouldn't push my political views on anyone... BUT... $20 and it barely was a half of tank of gas. Now you may be thinking - well, when you drive a Hummer... but, NO!!!! I drive a 2-door Chevy Cavalier...

Here's to hoping the next leadership elected to office in the great United States - takes care of business and takes care of us!!!!!!

(Amy quietly gets off her soap box and puts it away)

A picture a day in '08...

So, I thought it might be fun to try and take pictures every day this year. Nothing profound really, just want to learn how to use my camera. (and, since the holidays have ended, I haven't done a bit of crafting)

Here is my shot of the day...

This is my dictaphone machine at work that has ceased working this year. I have to admit that since coming back from vacation, I have often thought that I am "not ready" to work.

Guess what this is...

Anyone want to venture a guess? Where is Bob?

I know! He is on the potty!

How brave am I to post a picture of my toilet ;)

Yes, I have come to a time in my life (again) where I will spend as much time in the bathroom as I will spend out of it (if not more). My 3 year old has FINALLY decided to try and use the potty. How did I get the most stubborn boy in the land to start potty training? Why, BRIBERY - of course!
If Matt makes it one week in underwear without accidents - he will get his very own skateboard! Since I am pretty sure that it will be months before that happens, it will probably be an Easter gift - LOL!
Wish me luck on the potty training wagon!
