re-entry can be tough...

Matt had a rough day at school. The child who family and friends know as loud, extremely active, and mischievous (in the cutest way possible, of course) is angelic at school. He never wants to disappoint his teachers.

Well, today he and 5 other boys were playing in the block area - no one was listening to the teacher say clean-up and after several chances - the boys had to sit along the wall during gym and not play. Matt was devastated. So much so that his teacher actually called me to make sure he was okay.

Matt and I had a LONG talk about listening to his teacher and doing the right thing. He was so upset over the incident- he was still crying. (I so wanted to just say - Matt, it was some blocks - get over it - but I am pretty sure he is just overtired from our Disney adventure.) Finally, as he went off to bed he told me...

"Mom, it is just so hard to be good all day when you're 4." To which I responded "Matt, it is hard to be good all day when your 38."

Poor Matt, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Molly becomes fearless

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain
Mission Space
Tower of Terror

She tackled them all (most more than once) - the only ride she missed was Rock-n-Roller Coaster! We just didn't have enough time for it.

who's afraid of Darth Vader...

Matt may have been a cute sheriff, but he is one serious Jedi!

Molly LOVES Indy...

Molly (like her Mom), is in love with the Indiana Jones movies. She was THRILLED to get the chance to meet Indy's stunt doubles at the Indiana Jones Show at Disney Hollywood Studios.

I saved the world today...

5 times!!!!!The new Kim Possible Adventures at Epcot are AWESOME!!!! They give the kids cellphones that show videos from Kim and her friends. They tell the kids to search the countries around the World Showcase in EPCOT looking for clues. They are cleverly written, integrated into each country well (you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it), and enjoyable for kids and grown-ups. I don't want to spoil any of the fun for future Kim Possible Adventurers - but this is a Disney MUST DO!!!!

why Fort Wilderness...

We get asked that a lot. Why is Fort Wilderness our favorite place to stay at WDW. The reason is a simple one... because it is also NOT like staying at WDW. After a crazy day in the parks, we come back sit and sit in rocking chairs, while the kids play on the porch. The nightly outdoor movie is a family favorite. Having our own cabin with a separate bedroom for the kids - PRICELESS!!!!

We are completely out of those sticky eye patches (and Matt just pulls them off anyways). I found a great tutorial on Lucy Kate Crafts so I could make my own felt eye patches.

Matt doesn't mind wearing these. In fact, he often wears them for more than the prescribed time because he is not complaining about them, and we forget he is wearing them.

Of course, it does help that his favorite patch (not pictured here) was made to look like a pirate patch (i.e. skull and crossbones) and he wants to BE a pirate.

I finally caved and let Matt have his Mohawk.
Did I leave it like that?!?!

NO! I had them tone it down a bit

Doesn't he look just like Chicken Little?.

Matt on his future (i.e. rambling as I drive him to school)...

Matt: I am going to be a farmer that grows corn... and peas... and carrots - the cooked ones, not the hard ones... and... um.... oh, and soup!

Me: Matt, how do you grow soup?

Matt: You plant the seed in the ground, put the bowl down and the soup grows into the bowl. I am gonna make toys too! and sell them in a store.

Me: Cool - a farm store, who is going to run it?

Matt: You are, you are gonna be the farmer's wife.

Me: Me? but I am already married to your Dad.

Matt: That's okay, he can work there too. But you're the farmer's wife because we live together and I love you - so we can get married.

I told Matt's teacher about his new found love for farming. She was excited because they were going to plant seeds for a school garden. So you can imagine my surprise (after hearing about his future farming skills for days) when I got to school and the teacher called me to her desk and said "listen to this - it is hysterical"

Miss Heather: "Matt did you help plant these seeds" (lettuce seeds)

Matt: "NO! That's salad, I am not growing salad - I don't even like salad!" pointing to the seedlings "Mom, I had NOTHING to do with that!"
